The theme of the evening was "But was it all a dream?" but this is actually a true story.
"Two Moons" is a song I co-wrote with Arthur Baker. The video was directed by Dawn VanderVloed and filmed in Orange County, NY. The car featured in the video broke down once or twice and was repaired by the late great Kent McGregor so we could finish filming.
"Goddess on a Highway" was filmed outside of Woodstock. Look closely, you'll see my backpack bump me in the head at one point but I keep walking so they don't have to refilm.
"Delta Sun" they flew us out to Los Angeles and probably spent more than it cost to make the album, but it was fun. That's me finding the transmitter on the beach in Malibu and radioing a satellite for backup.
"Opus 40" was filmed on a soundstage in Queens, directed by Anton Corbijn. I especially like the image near the end with all of us holding sparklers. I'm the guy with the beard and the accordion. They had cannoli in catering. Anton wasn't going to eat any, then I explained to him that this is what they were talking about in The Godfather, "Leave the gun, take the cannoli," and this convinced him to try one.
"Slumberland" came out in 2006, written directed by Jarek Kupsc, partially filmed in Kingston. Please check out his other films, particularly The Reflecting Pool.
"Two Boys" came out in 2010 and won Best Drama at the Beverly Hills Short Film Festival. Victor Bumbalo is well known for his plays including "What Are Tuesdays Like?"
I was looking for this video forever and finally found it on YouTube. Mike Scott invited me to open up for The Waterboys on their UK/European tour, which of course I gladly did. He then asked me to play in the band, which at the time I didn't want to do because I'd just left Rev and was feeling very independent, but I happily agreed to sit in on keyboards for the Jools Holland show.
My friend Arthur Baker, (with whom I wrote Two Moons) is a hekuva nice guy in addition to being a mega producer. When he invited me into the studio to add some keyboards to "Behind Closed Doors" I was more than psyched, being a big New Order fan. It came out as a bonus track on their "Get Ready" lp.
